The Beauty of Deadlines

Dead. Line.
Deadlines...far away, they seem so innocent. Then they draw near, and the dread begins to build, Their weght beomes so heavy they give me headaches. And suddenly so many OTHER things seem important. And life starts to interfere with what seemed like a perfectly reasonable deadline.

Writing deadlines make me clean house. Visitor deadlines make me write. And all deadlines make me take naps.
But in the end...deadlines are my friend. When push comes to shove, they make me get things done that I never would have done.

For the deadline that made me get new stories written and ready to perform this year, I blow you all kisses! I couldn't have done it without you!
For the deadline that made me finally get a book review done recently, I kiss you on the forehead!
For the deadline that made me write "Wild Flowers" koto duos this spring, I kiss you on right smack on the lips! I like those pieces, so does Brian, and so did the people at Folklife!!

Thank you, Deadlines! You have been my lifeline.

Comments:
With some trepidation, I can say the same - and I'm looking forward to new music.
